Yoga: Making Healthier Choices

I’m so excited with my yoga progress! Finding my Zen and reducing my stress levels has presented me with more energy and self-esteem! I used to wonder why so many women were beginning to practice yoga in their own homes. I couldn’t help but be skeptical about a workout routine that just required you to take, and hold poses.
At first, I was worried about looking silly. Standing around in my home in awkward poses where my children would be coming in one by one to ask what I was doing….
I realized the thought alone was silly. What did I care if my kids found my workout routine odd? If it was helping me become a better and healthier person, what was the harm.
So, a few months ago I ordered a yoga outfit and a mat. I then started searching for apps to assist me along my process. I ended up finding one that was perfect for beginners. You guessed it, it’s called Yoga for Beginners.
I was able to find so many helpful things to get started:
Beginner Tips
Breathing Techniques
Yoga Essentials
& Even pose descriptions
On top of those, I am able to find walkthrough videos that cater to what I am trying to accomplish with my mind and body.
I have fallen in love with this workout routine.
I have changed so much since beginning this process and I can’t wait to see more changes to come. I’m drinking water more frequently, eating healthier, and focusing on my mental health.
I was surprised that it took me until I was 30 years old to realize I needed to make massive changes to the way I was living. Recently, a friend of mine on Twitter suggested to remove carbonated beverages from my diet. Normally, when someone would advise that idea to me… I would immediately dismiss it. Stopping drinking pop and Monster Energy seemed impossible. However, I am finding it easier and easier to remove the negative habits from my life.
Except Smoking: I’m still fighting that demon to this day. — It’s a work in progress.
If you’re on the fence about making healthier choices for your life, don’t wait any longer. Take the plunge!
