Today Is Lillian’s Sixth Birthday: Tough, Opinionated and Sneaky

Well now, we can't all have little angels, can we?

Today, our little angel, whose halo is held up by horns, turns the big 6 today and we couldn't be more excited.

When Derrek and I met it was the holidays. Our first date was on New Year's Eve. We were infatuated with one another, so much so, that from day one we knew we had found the one.

What we didn't know is that one week after we met, we would be pregnant with our first child together.

Yes, one week. January 7th - according to the doctors' calculations.

A surprise to us and a gift we never knew we needed.

Lillian is opinionated like her mother, tough like her father, and sneaky like her brothers... but most of all, she's loving. She cares about everyone and is not afraid to tell you. If you're mean to someone when she's around, she's quick to put you in your place.

Even me guys - yesterday I was playing with Samuel and wouldn't give him a hug and she snapped at me.

"Mommy you hug Samuel right now! He needs attention too!"

Needless to say, I gave him a hug and apologized. She can be very persuasive.

This little girl has changed my life from the day she arrived. She reminds me of the good in the world, keeps me honest and makes me want to be a better mom.

I love all of my children. They all hold a special piece of my heart.

Lillians piece is just covered in barbed wire and bows.
