Take Those Risks to Change Your Life Today: Drink the Water
If you were given the opportunity to change your entire way of life in an instant… would you take it?

If someone came to you and said:
“Look at your life, as it is today. Now, I have a better life here on this plate in the form of a glass of water… All you have to do is pick it up, drink it and it’s yours.”
Would you, do it?
They said it was better, but they didn’t specify how. You could have a different family, live in a completely different place, have a different job, home… everything.
Wouldn’t that be interesting?
Now, think of that same concept when you are offered information that could change the course of your life.
Starting college.
Changing jobs.
Letting go of someone that makes your life worse than it could be.
Why is it that when we are met with these tips and tricks to better our lives, we don’t jump at the chance? Is it because the change is not instantaneous like it would be in the scenario that included the drink, is it because we are afraid of failure or is it because we are content in the life we have chosen?
I could not tell you for sure.
However, I can tell you that I’m not the only one that has pondered this question. You, yourself have probably thought about it a time or two. When you were offered a job that you didn’t take, asked on a date that you declined or were advised of an avenue you could go down but instead went in the other direction.
We all are presented with ways to better our lives and the lives of those around us consistently. Yet, we always feel as if we’re stuck in the same spot… just walking in circles.
We are not.
It is the choices we continue to make. People are so content with the familiar that we tend to make similar decisions to the ones we always have. It’s not that we do not want for a better life, it’s that we are stuck in our ways.
Break the barriers guys. Take a step off of the path you continue to take and risk a change. You just might get where you’ve always wanted to go. For lack of a better ending….
Drink the water.
