Our Illusion of Perfect Parenting
Some days we can feel like we are all alone on this journey through parenting. Where we run into issues that seem like no one else has to deal with and there is nowhere to turn. Of course, we know that's not the case. Everyone runs into similar issues when raising children, they just don't openly announce it.

It's hard to come out to people and say things like.
I found poop in my carpet today!
My child cut their own bangs.
I don't have the mental strength to do laundry today.
I don't remember the last time I washed my hair.
Toys have, once again, been flushed down the toilet.
My child just called a stranger fat!
We don't openly advise these things because we don't want to seem like we're failing in any way. Even though there are thousands of mothers and fathers who run into these issues.... we still choose to give the illusion that we're always keeping it together.
Why?
What's the reward from that? Admiration? From other parents that have no binding on your day-to-day life....
Some days, you just have to stand up and shout:
I have coffee on the T-shirt I've been wearing for three days, and I am PROUD!
Own all of that because these days won't last forever. Your little ones are going to grow, your life is going to change and someday all your clothes are going to be clean...
You're going to hate that.
Stop pretending, stop putting up the shield and own your parenting problems.
You're not alone.
