Mindlessly Chasing Paper?
Did you wake up at 7 this morning with a full day ahead of you? Are you feeling tired and worn out?
"Ya’ll.. Me too"

I swear, it feels like the wheels are going to fall off our gravy trains all the time. You’re punching the clock, caring for children or loved ones, and then penalized for not caring for yourself more. Just to hit the pillow to do it all again the next day.
I’m with you. It’s a never-ending trail of ‘chasing paper’.
Could you imagine a world where money did not matter? Can we go back to trading goats for wheat? I’d do it.
Well, my husband would do it. I would be back at the hut snapping peas. It’s a housewife thing…
Okay, maybe not. I didn’t live in those times. I have no idea what women would normally be doing. But my grandmother snapped peas… so that’s the best I got.
These days are much more technical. Rather than sit at home and care for a garden, knit or follow a book club. Women are shaking their derrieres on TikTok and getting hair extensions. — Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to decide whether or not I can stomach wearing a pair of shorts because it’s too hot for pants.
We’re off topic, back to our money chasing ways.
Many people spend the majority of their time attempting to find the best (or easiest) way to earn income. I’m in that pack. I often ponder what it would be like to earn a million dollars in an instant and hardly have to work again. I’m aware it’s a cold chance in H.E. double hockey sticks but still. A girl can dream.
I would buy everything. Yup, because I have no conscious understanding of finances. If I did, I probably wouldn’t be running paycheck to paycheck at the moment. You read that correctly.
I’m not a millionaire. I know, big shocker. It’s ok though. #lifegoals. Someday… maybe.. I don’t know.
We’re looking for the best way to earn income for many reasons. Save for retirement, children's college funds, future weddings of our daughters, world domination — you know, the essentials. While breaking our backs for these future transactions, I’m sure it’s safe to say that many of us forget to live for the moment.
That’s where we’re going wrong. Yeah, it’ll be nice for little Timmy to go to college or little Sarah to have a grand wedding to that high school drop out that she’s just going to divorce six months later. But what about today? What about right now?
Wouldn’t you like to see the beach? Take a small sliver of that money you’re planning on saving and get out and enjoy life. Feel the sun on your skin.
If I do it, I’ll make sure to write about it.
