Make Your Monster Mash Bash a Ghoulish Night to Remember!
Halloween is one my two favorite times to throw a party. (The other being Christmas- Who knew!) Every year, people from ages 0 to 100 dress up and become someone.... or something... completely different than what or who they are. Some may even end up getting invited to more than one spooky gathering.

However, this piece is dedicated to the ones throwing the Monster Mash, rather than just attending it. If you are planning on creating a ghoulish Halloween shindig this year, how are you planning to be a step above the rest? What makes your party better than all the others your friends will be invited to this year?
An interesting theme perhaps?
Normally, all you get with a Halloween Party invitation is "Remember to wear your costume" or "BYOB". Giving your party a specific theme can put your planned get together above the rest.
Theme ideas could include:
Rocky Horror Picture show- Come as your favorite character.
Harry Potter - Come as your favorite character.
Nightmare Before Christmas - Come as your favorite character.
BeetleJuice - Come as your favorite character.
Famous couple - Dress like your favorite famous couple
Dress as your spouse party - Needs no further explanation.
Horror/Scary Movie Theme - Let us guess the movie you chose.
Murder Mystery - Think of clue
The list could go on and on. I hope I have given you a good starting point!
Now it's time to focus on the most anticipated part of any party...
That's right, The food!
You could plan a four-course meal or choose your favorite ghoulish finger foods. However, make sure that you cater the foods you serve to the theme you chose.
Some food ideas could include:
The shrimp cocktail from the Beetlejuice movie
Butterbeer from Harry Potter
Cheese ball spider
Brain Meatloaf
Fruit (or spiked) punch with Eyeball or Hand shaped Ice.
Skeleton made out of cupcakes
Sculptured cakes to mirror sculptures from Edwards Scissorhands.
Once again, the list could go on. Hope this is a good start.
If you've given yourself time to plan. Make sure to get organized, take suggestions from friends and family and have fun with it. If you decided to throw your party only a few short weeks before the event... stick with what you know and get started. It will be fun either way.
Sure, parties are such a fun way to connect with your friends and family... but planning the party can be just as enjoyable!
