Make Changes to Your Life Today
“I attend seminars, read books, listen to podcasts, and take online courses... yet I am still not living the life I want to and am unhappy with the life I have. How can I have the life I want to have?”

Does this sentence sound familiar? It's more common than one would think. There are many people out there who could be called “Seminar Junkies”. They go from course to course, book to book, guru to guru desperately seeking answers, yet never finding them.
They watch the people around them have magical transformations in their lives and feel frustrated and resentful that they are not gaining the same results. These people typically continue to attend course after course until eventually they give up and live a life of quiet desperation. I don't know about you, but I do not wish to be one of those people.
Now, I’m going to share a huge secret with you, though you have to promise not to tell everyone else, because otherwise all these people who make their living from self-help seminars and books will get very upset at me for sharing.
The majority of people who attend self-help seminars, read the books, and listen to the podcasts are all desperately looking for someone else to change their lives. Rather than taking responsibility for their own lives, they firmly believe that the only way they can change is if some influencer or guru waves their magic wand and blesses them. Then, and only then, will they have permission, and the ability, to change.
Well, the reality is clear.
No guru, self-help book, seminar, or podcast is guaranteed to change your life.
The only way you are going to change your life is if you decide to change it.
You can do all of the things listed above, but if you are not willing to take responsibility for what you have in your life and accept your own power and ability to change it, you are never going to get the changes you want.
That’s right. You’ll just stay the same.
People are far too willing in today’s society to give away their personal power and responsibility for their lives. They are always jumping from diet to diet or from health fad to health fad or whatever, hoping that one of them will actually make a difference for them. This is where the disconnect lies.
If you want to change your life, there are 5 simple steps to take - without handing your money to a magician.
1. Make a decision right now that you are going to change your life.
It may seem that you've already decided to change your life because you've been reading the books and attending the podcasts. However, until you come to terms with the fact that you play a part in that change, the decision has yet to be made.
2. Take responsibility for everything.
The good, the bad and the ugly! The choices that you have made over the years have placed you where you sit today. Accept that this life you have is one you have created, and you are the only person who has the ability to change it.
3. Decide what you do want.
Where would you like yourself to be in 5 years? What are you willing and not willing to live with? If you do not yet know what you want, focus on what you don't want and go from there. Are you unhappy with the current job you have? Maybe you wish to find a new career. Unhappy in your marriage? Maybe a divorce is what you're looking for.
4. Create a plan of action.
Make a list of short- and long-term goals. Start formulating a plan on how you are going to reach those goals to gain the changes you were focusing on in step three. Having a good plan will present you with a road map to your overall goals and give you an estimated time of achieving them.
5. Take Action
Probably the most important step of all. Anyone can think of the things they wish to do in order to make changes in their lives, however, the thoughts mean nothing if no action is being taken. You have to take the leap and begin doing the things you set into your plan of action for the changes to occur. This is the one step that can separate the success stories from the dreamers who are in envy of the successors.
If are one of those people who have been attending all these seminars, reading these books and listening to those podcasts... and yet you still haven’t managed to change your life. Then ask yourself this question.
“Am I taking responsibility for changing my life?”
If the answer is anything but yes, then take responsibility now and start making changes today! Regardless if you choose to do this on your own or to work with a professional, take responsibility. Take all of the information you have gained from the books, seminars and podcasts. Implement them into your life and follow your dreams. You can achieve them! All you need to do is take accountability and action.
You can choose to wait a lifetime for someone else to make the changes for you, and receive no results or, you can stop waiting and take action yourself! Stop putting things off and expecting the work to be done by others. I know the thought of someone else putting in the legwork sounds like the easier option, but overall, it can be a waste of precious time.... and sometimes money.
Final Note: If you are reading this and saying “I tried and gained nothing” or “I don't know how” or anything similar... then you absolutely need to re-read this article right now two or three times. Start making changes now. It is time to stop trying and start doing.
